How do you make mushrooms?

I've never made them and want to make them next week and wanted to know what you put in them?

Thanks!

Re: How do you make mushrooms?

stuffed mushrooms??

I make stove top stuffing....put some in each mushroom cap, either use a pat of butter on each or a squeeze of Parkey margarine. Bake for about 20 mins at 350 degrees.

Yummy and fast!!!

you can take the mushroom stems and chop them up and out them in the stuffing for an extra good taste!! Chat Icon

I love this Stuffed Mushroom from Bon Appetit, it is so yummy and easy. I eliminate brushing the mushrooms with white wine and they are perfect. They freeze well too.

I saute minced onion in butter, chop up the mushroom stems and add them to the pan. Then I add breadcrumbs, parmesan and salt and pepper until I get them to the right "stuffing consistency." I stuff the mushrooms, drizzle olive oil on top, cover and bake them for about 20 minutes.

Really simple and yummy!

Re: How do you make mushrooms?

I take sausage meat (out of the casing - they sell it at supermarkets) and brown it.
Then I combine that with breadcumbs, parmegean cheese, garlic powder and black pepper and add olive oil to make moist.

Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes (you'll know when they are done.

Re: How do you make mushrooms?

I dice up the stems and mix that with italian style bread crumbs, romano cheese, and garlic powder. I spray each cap with 2 squirts of 'spray better' (healthier alternative to squeeze margarine), stuff, and then spray the tops again. They are so simple, yet good!

Another favorite I do, still easy, but more time consuming is crabmeat stuffed. I saute minced garlic and chopped green onions in olive oil. Next I add crabmeat (you can use canned or the lump - but the break it up small) and saute for a few more minutes. Turn heat off and add cream cheese and italian-style breadcrumbs. Mix thoroughly and then stuff caps.

stuffed mushrooms - I use flavored bread crumbs, cut up stems, chopped garlic, parm cheese mixed with olive oil and stuff and bake.

Regular mushrooms ideas - I saute them with garlic and btter as a side dish as well. Add lots of black pepper and maybe some red pepper for a kick.
