i got mine from the library and it was free!!!! got the consumer reports one but wasnt impressed with it. plus if you go on consumer reports you can get info for free too.

It's defintely worth it. A good place to start is to write down the basics you'll register for & then compare what you see.
I also have an online subscription to Consumer Reports & can get access to ratings if you need.

I bought Baby Bargains and found it to be very helpful. The problem I found with registering though was that there was just SO MUCH and I couldn't remember in each department what the heck the book said. I went back a second time, and as I was trying to pick each item, I went through the book again. I just parked my butt on one of the benches they have all over the BRU store and read and compared then looked at the different stuff. It really helped me.

best thing to start out with is a little at a time. i must have went to bru and bbb at least 5 times to change things and also its great that you can access it from the web. baby bargins has a check list inthe back of essentials of what you need. i didnt not register for onsies, recieving blankets, or any types of clothing becuase people buy that for you anyway. do the essentials which are bath tub, mattress, mattress cover, changing table pad, changing table mattress, stroller, high chair, pack and play, baby swing - the big items that you need help with.

I will tell you that I altered my registry from BRU online and it didn't show up on the stores registry. At one point I had 3 travel systems and 2 packnplays on it at once. Your best bet is to just add stuff from your compoter online but if you have to alter do it in the store....Good Luck
PS I changed my mind a million times, must of went back 5x or so until I was happy!!

i checked it out from the library but it's a 2003 edition and I'm concerned about how much their ratings may have changed with recent editions.

really my library is huntington and they had to reserve from another library in suffolk but got me the latest addition I would ask them to look it up for you. It took two days for them to get it on loan.
