please help spread awareness about pancreatic cancer -- only takes a few minutes!

Please help spread awareness about pancreatic cancer. This will only take a couple of minutes and could have a huge impact!

Good Morning America is considering running a follow-up segment on pancreatic cancer and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network after their segment with Dr. Randy Pausch and The Last Lecture. They are waiting to see what kind of response they get from last Thursdays' Primetime special and Friday's Good Morning America segment (this is the same Carnegie Mellon professor that was on Oprah awhile ago). If they receive a lot of feedback from viewers wishing to learn more about the disease, they will proceed with the follow-up segment.

Some of you know how this disease has devastated my life -- taking my Daddy from me at way too young of an age... just last month. Something needs to be done about this terrible disease that is such a killer, yet gets so little attention and so little research dollars, so this doesn't happen to other families.

Here’s where you come in... please fill out this feedback form for Good Morning America.

Copy and paste this link:

http://abcnews.go.com/Site/page?id=3271346&cat=Good%20Morning%20America

The idea is for you all to let ABC know:

How you have been personally affected by pancreatic cancer or how you are bothered by the fact there is no early detection and only 5% survive

That you’d like to see ABC run additional segments on pancreatic cancer

Why it’s important to you that the disease receive more media exposure (for example, no screening and its the 4th biggest killer among cancers and only 5% survive)

When you submit your feedback, please write in purely as a television viewer who wishes to see more coverage about it.

This is an easy way to make a difference. Please help us bring more attention to this disease. It will save lives!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

i know we've both had the misfortune of losing parents to this terrible disease.

it seems like everyone i talk to or meet who knows someone whose had this disease has very similar stories -- and they almost always have the worst ending... loss of a loved one.

something needs to change so it doesn't happen to other people!

I agree. I just wrote them a long email, but then got cut off, because I was only allowed to write 500 characters.
Yes, something MUST be done. Many people are so unaware of thise Cancer and it is so sad. It needs more funding.Chat Icon

Thanks for spreading the word! My grandmother passed away from this four years ago. I feel pretty certain she would still be alive today if she didn't get this. When it was detected, she only lived about two more weeks, and it was a painful, miserable two weeks for her. I wouldn't wish this disease on anyone--it's bad.
