Need to take an online Sp Ed class...Forget it I cannot take an online class for this requirement! :(
Was never told that I had to take a Sp Ed class for my Literacy Certification and to graduate so NOW I have to take one I do not want to give Hofstra another dime. What are reputable sites to take it online???

In all seriousness, I have no idea which sites even offer those types of classes. Wish I could help.

Does the class have to be through a university?
You could do a TEI (teacher education institute) class. I did some of those when I was going for my masters plus credits.
ETA: I am surprised that Hofstra only required one special ed class for a literacy degree. I find in my experience that a large percentage of the students in remedial reading classes are special education students. Just my two cents.

Ive done classes both through www.lilieonline.com and scope. For an easy class, I would try scope! HTH!

Actually Im pretty sure you have an option to take both as grad classes.

There are some graduate online courses through St. John's University both summer and in the fall. Not sure what specific course you need, but there is even one special ed course in the pre-session that starts in May, I think.
Granted, it is probably much more expensive than some of the other options mentioned....let me know if you want the info about course availability.

Same here!!! My kids could teach you a lot!
But have you checked out Dellecave Institute. I am taking a few classes through them for salary differential. They also have some online options.

i never had to take a sp ed class for my literacy masters.
try Fresno Pacific University
they are graduate level and VERY inexpensive. they are also a piece of cake--much easier than any other i've ever taken. if they'll accept it, that's the way to go!

Apparently this is a prerequisite now BUT never made apparent to me ever in any advisement
