Disney port orleans riverside

I'm looking up prices for Disney port orleans riverside. There's a waterview room option and a standard view option (view of garden, courtyard, woodland, or parking area). Is the standard view ok or should we really pay the extra money for the water view?

We stayed in French quaters, but walked over there. My co workers also stayed in riverside and liked it. I think you are find w/the standard.

Water view is not the greatest.

We had parking lot view (it was closest to a bus stop - which we wanted because we have a child)

Are you dead-set on staying there - cause I had a horrible experience at the Riverside and will never stay there again.
But we did love the Carribean Beach

I wouldn't pay for an upgraded view at port orleans riverside. A king size bed, yes, but not a water view.

Honestly, I'd pay extra to be closer to the buses before I'd pay extra for a water view. If you're anything like me, most of your hotel time will be nap- or bedtime.

Re: Disney port orleans riverside

We have stayed in the french quarters at port orleans it was nice. I personally wouldn't pay extra for a water view unless you plan on it being a romantic trip. When we went we had a bunch of kids with us therefore the minute we woke up we where off to Disney and when we came back we were in the pool. By the time we got back to the room it was time for Chat Icon JMO, have a fun trip Chat Icon

Honestly - I wouldn't pay for it - unless you thought it would be quieter. If you were staying somewhere with a balcony I would say maybe pay for the upgrade - but honestly - you don't have a balcony and with people walking by your room how much time will you spend in it with the blinds open?

Re: Disney port orleans riverside

I've stayed at POFQ which is a little smaller.

I'd pay the preferred rate for a room closer to the lobby //bus stops (this is what we do for All-Stars, but not for the view.

Of course it depends on what kind of vacation it is, but when I'm at WDW I spend SO little time in the room and even less time looking out the window.

Save the money and spend it on a nice dinner at California Grill

Re: Disney port orleans riverside

the views are not really that much different. we had a water view room last year and this year we opted for standard.
