bar/cocktails/lounge in Nassau??
Hey, I'm new here but I'm totally dying for some suggestions . I'm looking for a place to grab some drinks and chill out for my birthday... I tend to err on the side of dive bars but would like to try something a bit nicer this time around. I normally dont go out on Long Island (more so in the city, queens or bklyn) but am looking for something local. So if you know of any hidden gems, I'd totally love to check them out. Nassau county (i'm in Mineola) would be super appreciated.

I've never gone there to drink really, more just a quick dinner or lunch. I got the impression its more sportsy (i.e. less music and ruckus, more watching a baseball game and rooting) but thank you!

Waterzooi or Novita....right next to eachother on Franklin Avenue in Garden City. A little on the pricey side, but great atmosphere in Novita especially if you like wine and they are very close to you.

I'm partial to the bars in Huntington, particularly Hanu Kitchen, Besito & Mill Pond House in Centerport.
It's not Nassau but it's close.
Oh I just thought of Baang in Woodbury and what about Maxxels in Mineola?

how did I never realized that Huntington has this bevy of places? must remember!
I think I might walk by Novita tonite to see what its like but that might be the easiest... Maxxels, is it more of a restaurant or bar? I've driven past it a billion times but never really checked it out at all.

I never even heard of that place but it looks like it would be fun maybe for a different night when I'm up for some live music (i usually err on the side of a bar with some excellent indie/hiphop choices on loop). Thanks for the link too!
