Re: Can you share your Writing Strategies?
Of all the steps of the writing process, these two are my least favorite.
Of course, since they are time consuming and kids are ever changing in their needs, they tend to be the LEAST favorite.
We use color coded paper for drafts. Kids skip lines for revision.
We also use the F and P 8 step checklist for editing. The kids set this up for each rough draft.
We also do peer conferencing for editing and revising.
Ive also has kids cut and paste their rough drafts for revising.
ETA: This is all set up through LOOOOTS of model lessons. By now, they've got it, but it took time to set up.

Re: Can you share your Writing Strategies?
They def. skip lines when revising. Helps me a lot!
We spend one day editing for spelling and make corrections in one color.
Another day it's grammar and that's another color.

Re: Can you share your Writing Strategies?
One of my old Professors was very big on "TAG"
T- Tell about it A- Ask questions G- Give ideas
It is supposed to be after the child shares his/her story- in the small group one student will summarize what the other wrote, another will ask questions, and another will give some ideas on how to improve.
I notice it is a good way to also help refine listening skills.
