Can you make a decent living being a waiter?
I told my dh that he would be good as a waiter as he is very outgoing but he doesn't think it pays much.
Can someone tell me approximately how much a waiter makes and if there are any places out there hiring? Thanks :)

I think it depends where you work, the clients etc. - My sister waited tables all through college at Croxley's in Rockville Center - Sometimes, she would make $500 in one night -

It reallly depends. A friend of DH's brother worked at Ruth Chris and made more money there workign 3 nights then he ever could as a teacher. It delayed him becoming one because the money was so good.
My DH worked at bolder creek when he failed the boards to supplement his intern money since he thought he passed and went out and bought a new car but in the end he was able to pay all his bills just fine. He did live at home though when this happened.

I waitressed before and all through college. You have to be disciplined with your money bc one night you can make 200+and some nights 50 and under.....when the economy is bad you def feel it, however more upscale places tend to be better, but require a lot of experience and knowledge of wine
