Teachers... is anyone really frustrated?
This is the worst year I have had teaching... I'm doing 6 classes, 5 different preps, and I'm just at my wits' end!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone feel like they don't want to do this anymore? It is because it's June and it's almost over and I'm pressured because of the stupid Regents? I just don't want to go there, I am not motivated to grade anymore, the kids are being LAZY and not doing anything, I had one kid EATING HIS VOCABULARY LIST and drooling all over the place (and no, he's not classified special education, he's just a darn fool).
Is anyone else burned out? I'm so tired. Thank god there are only 6 more days of classes. I feel like if we didn't have summers off, we'd all be in a loony bin!
ARGH. I just needed to vent. I used to work in the corporate world... 70 hours a week... and this is the HARDEST ***** job I have ever had. How do you cope?
Thanks for listening.

After this week - i DON'T know how I deal with it. Luckily, I have AMAZING kids in my classes.....it's the state tests and the administration that are what's killing me

Thanks for the hugs...
Good luck on the state tests...
How can they expect a kid who eats paper in the 10th grade to pass the Regents????

I could have wrote this. I've been teaching for 10 years, high school and am currently teaching 3 sections of college Eco supervized by Syracuse Univ., two sections of World 10AP and 1 section of Regents Eco.
Oh, and trying to plan a wedding and getting used to living with FH.
I hate teaching write now. We had a smear campaign in the district against the budget and it will be voted down again. My seniors, even my AP students are so lazy.
My district is going to hell in a handbasket and my job is equivalent to 2 full time teaching jobs (if you tesch AP it's less classes most places) almost anywhere else.
Oh, and there is currently no one else who is trained to teach the classes I teach. I hope to God, I got preggos on the honeymoon and I leave them high and dry in March. There is no way they will be able to get a sub to replace me given the specialty courses I teach. Maybe then the community, kids and administration will appreciate me.
Sorry for the vent but the last day, my wedding and honeymoon can't come sooon enough.

I think you are just burnt out. Im a HS Special Ed. Teacher and there are days where I have had it, when when I have the good days, I feel good about what I do. Hang in there, it is almost over. When it is treat yourself to a day for YOU

Re: Teachers... is anyone really frustrated?
I am about to lose it too. I have had an out of the classroom position this year and I want to go back to the classroom so badly but there is no one in the building to replace me and the last time he took someone from outside of the school he got screwed. He told me I had to stay in the position for next year whether I wanted it or not.
I hate what I am doing. I had to visit a new small school in my region the other day and it was so lovely. I almost called the principal to ask about vacancies for the fall but I don't want to do that to my principal. He's treated me well but next year is it for me.
Many to all of you. Hang in there...

Re: Teachers... is anyone really frustrated?
With all the budget problems going on in our district, it so sooo depressing. The bottom line is the children suffer. We as teachers are only human, and I feel as if we are pulled in every direction imaginable. We need to hang in there and remember the children are what makes our job bearable. (well... at least sometimes ).
edited to include hugs to all of the stressed out teachers!!!
