Sp Ed jobs please!
Hi everyone! This is my first post on LIF so be gentle
I am currently teaching at a private school for children with autism. It is an ABA based program and I am trying to get back into public schools (I've worked as a para before). Does anyone know of ANY opening either in the city or LI in similar programs. I have lots of experience in working in Special Ed. I've set my resume out to so many schools, something tells me the key to landing a permanent job is to sub. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

subbing will help, as well as working as a TA (teaching assistant) this is how I got my job as a teacher.
If something opens up by me I will let you know, but we laid off people in our district...special ed. teachers being some of them.
But look into being a TA if nothing comes up...good luck

It is a rough world out there. I have had my resume out there for about 2 months and nothing yet... hopefully in june we will here some news.............. Good luck

Im not a teacher but my DH is a Special Education Teacher...he said that Smithtown is hiring more than one position and William Floyd is looking for Special Education Subs...HTH
