Re: I was so proud of Quitting Smoking, but...
I totally understand!!!
I quit smoking right before i started the nursing program 2 years ago. The combination of quitting and of taking night classes (i.e-picking up fast food on my way home from class at 10:30pm because i was starving) killed me. I'm the heaviest i've ever been and i hate it! Nothing fits me, but i won't buy clothes in a bigger size b/c i refuse to enable it. DH and I finally began taking advantage of the great weather and now we walk every night, play tennis, football, anything... we try to spend at least an hour after work doing something. I still need to work on my snacking, but one step at a time.
I know how much it $ucks... but just think about how much better it is for your DD to have a mom that has a couple of extra pounds, as opposed to a mom with cancer, or no mom at all. You've already proven that when you set your mind to something, you can accomplish it- you conquered the hardest task of all- the quitting. If you can do that, you can do anything! The weight will be gone before you know it!!!

I am a big fan of WW. Its not a quick solution, but its a lifestyle where you can keep the weight off for the rest of your life. WW also promotes a more active lifestyle- that can be anything from running 2 miles, running 1 mile walking or even just taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Everything counts! Good luck!
