so sad :-(
so.. i posted on here before that i'm a speech therapist in a school and this is my tenure year. however, i was told " they haven't seen enough improvement in me", so i will not be given tenure, or a position next year. WELL i've kind of gotten over it, and i've been dealing ok... until now. they now have my position advertised for rehire its so hard to see that, and know that i wasn't let go because of budget cuts or downsizing. its also tough becasue i just had an IEP meeting wtih a parent who is a bus driver in the district who said " i saw that you resigned. whats going on?" what am i supposed to tell her?? "well, i suck so they fired me?!" GRRR!!! this whole thing is sooo frustrating!!!

im soooo sure you dont suck!! a lot of districts do this.. why keep you as a tenure teacher and pay you more when they can hire someone right out of school and pay them less. i know this stinks but unfortunately it happens sometimes. they suck.. not you! good luck finding a new position.

Re: so sad :-(
That's terrible!
Please do not get discouraged! Do not take it personally- or question your abilities as a teacher. Most of the time they let people go there is a whole other agenda. It could be that the superintendents niece needed a job, KWIM?

Sometimes things happen for a reason. I'm so sorry. you'll find a district that's your match and probably be happier there. btw you don't suck

Re: so sad :-(
Sorry to hear that. You don't work in NYC schools do you? They are always hiring for SLP's in the schools. Now is a good time to start looking!
