Re: when is enough enough?

when your boss makes you cry non stop b/c she is a nut case and you end up spending ridiculous amounts of money in stores to cheer yourself up. or with the case of my first job - when you have been promoted twice but still get treated like the entry level account assistant and are not challenged.

all that said though, i suggest thinking long and hard before starting the job search process. it was a nightmare for me!!!!

Re: when is enough enough?

For me it was when i would break down & start to cry for no reason at all when I wasn't at work. I would have a hard time falling asleep at night & my tossing & turning would keep DH from sleeping. I would dream about my job at night.

I have since left & have not regreted my decision.

Re: when is enough enough?

for me it was when I did not want to get out of bed in the morning..the cracks began to show...and the FINAL FINAL straw was when my boss knew it was my 30th birthday and even got me a cake...but then threw an unecessary project at me at 4:30 "to be completed before I left "- and it would have taken about 6 hours Chat Icon Then and there I was like that's it, I deserve better and am capable of more.

Re: when is enough enough?

I think you "just know" when you've hit that breaking point. For me, its when very little things start to really irritate me, and I stop caring as much as I know I could. And when my stomach is in knots during and after the drive home, and poor DH just has to listen to me vent for an hour about stupid stuff at work.

But the when do you give up and quit...for the most part, in this economy, not until after you've found a new job.

Re: when is enough enough?

I just hit that breaking point a few weeks ago. We received a new V.P. and a new manager in Dec and boy holy hell broke loose. The I had it part came when I received no raise but yet I worked my arse off the last year or so and with that I started not to care and didn't want to go to work. I was so upset and depressed that it was affected my home and DH. He just told me to leave and I can do better so I gave notice the beginning of May. I told them i don't need this stress and crap and this job doesn't interest me anymore. So right now I am looking for a better respectable job geared to my interests.

Believe you will know when your breaking point is my hit Feb and I tried to hold on to no avail. Here are some Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon and I hope things work out. Good luck.

3. When I have dreams about work and it affects my sleep

4. When I fantascize about the building exploding (with no one in there obviously) just so I don't have to go in the next day Chat Icon

Re: when is enough enough?

I hit it on friday. My boss told me I should take my life into my hands and try to stop a street walker who came in and used the bathroom. He told me I should have stopped him myself. NOT! I am looking since this weekend. I am still at the job, but will leave when I get a new job. Chat Icon PS It has made me physically sick- migrianes, bad tummy etc.
