What to really register for?

Ok, I'm clueless. What do I really put on the registry? Does anyone have a checklist type thing???

If you register at Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby they will help with the process and give you a suggested list

BRU ghave us a list in the store. I think you can also get it online.

i found that bru and bbb's lists were very long. i used the one baby bargins suggested.

i definitely didnt register for any clothes, onsies or receiving blankets becuase people buy them anyway and we got tons of gift certificates so whatever people didnt buy we were able to get.

The necessities i put down were:

Boppy pillow
bath tub
diapers
wipes
pack and play
Furniture (parents took care of )
glider (mil got)
mattress
changing table pad
crib sheets
diaper dekor
diaper bag
stroller
car seat
bottles
swing
high chair
baby book (memory book)
one gift set of bath essentials- ie baby shampoo and lotion
first aid kit with thermometers


what people mostly gave us despite the registry:
books
clothes
giftcards
teething toys
rattles

I also found that the BRU list was way to long and couldnt see people buying us some of the things such as a baby gate for example. I will send you an FM of my register list that way you can see. I didn't put a mattress because we purchased it with our set and the changing table pad also comes with our set. The glider my MIL is buying so that isnt on their.

I actually had someone purchase a gate for me off of my registry.

I read the the Baby Bargains book for opinions and also the wonderful women on this site gave me lots of suggestions on what to register for.
