I received a call for an interview, but I don't recall sending my resume!

Don't get me wrong I am looking for a job, but I am not sure I should go.

I do have my resume on Monster and CareerBuilder. I have "applied" for some jobs, but in the past few weeks, I have been certain to apply to jobs in a certain area as we may be moving.

The call I received, the interview is in Flushing and I am not certain where the job is for. I did check on Monster and they have other positions listed in various locations.

Should I still just goto the interview to keep my skills fresh? (The interview is on Tues)

TIA

I say you should go to refresh your skills if anything.

Have you called them back to confirm the interview? Can you ask them what the position is for?

I answered the call, and set up the interview, but DH was perplexed why I would go on an interview here when we may be moving! I did get info on the position and company. i suppose it wouldn't hurt to goto the interview, just would hate to waste their time.

Do you remember the posting?

Is the company legit? There are a lot of scams on both those sites.

In both cases, don't give your SS unless you know the company is legit.

I HATE interviewing so if it were me, i'd back out Chat Icon

with that said I would totally call and ask what its about, and let them know you responded to a *few* jobs. If you blew it over that, then it wasn't meant to beChat Icon

good luck if you do go, and let us know how it went!!

Re: I received a call for an interview, but I don't recall sending my resume!

We pulled a lot of resumes off of careerbuilder during our last round of hiring. A good portion of our interviewees (including one eventual hire) did not actually apply for the job.

It wouldn't hurt you to go for the interview if you have the time. And if the position is groundbreaking in salary and growth potential it may change your mind about moving.

But I would be honest with the interviewer if you decide after the interview that you have no intention of taking the job. A lot of thought and work goes into reviewing each of the candidates for a job and even if you waste a bit of their time interviewing for a job you don't necessarily want - you should be honest at the end and tell them that while you appreciate their time, you honestly do not think thie position is right for you at this time.

Good luck!Chat Icon
