Shoulder surgery on Monday....
I'm having arthroscopic surgery on my rotator cuff on Monday. 6:15am! 
I am definitely not looking for any sympathy. I consider this a fairly minor surgery. Much simpler than my elbow surgery a year and a half ago, and nothing compared to a C-section. It still sucks, though. I'll be out of work for about 4 weeks, so that's good....  I get to hang out with my favorite physical therapists again. They miss me there... 
If you don't see any posts from me for a while, that just means that the pain meds are working very well....

At work, definitely. Won't fly at home, though. DW knows that I've been through worse, plus she already knows that pain doesn't slow me down too much.... I'll get sympathy for a few days, though.
I need to modify the  smilie to only have one arm, since I can't hug with two arms for a while....

Let us know how it goes, my DH has been procrastinating getting this done also. has a bad shoulder from sports through the years and finally needs to take action on it

Good luck!!! I had the same kind of surgery on my left shoulder before and I know it's a pain in the butt!!!! Let me know if you have any questions!

A friend of ours had this done a few months back. He was a little sore for a while, but did just fine with it.

Good luck!!!
I had shoulder surgery when I was 18, not bad compared to my knee surgeries, and definitely not as bad as my c-section

Surgery went well. I was home by lunch. I had a "frozen shoulder". Scar tissue builds up in the joint, restricting motion, and making it painful to move the joint. Luckily, there were no tears. A little bit of wear and tear, but nothing too bad. I'm still sore, and I'll be starting therapy next week. I was only in a sling for 24 hours, so that wasn't too bad. I guess since there were no stitches, I didn't have to worry about pulling anything out by using my arm.
