Third Grade Teachers?

Hi Everyone,

I know many of us don't want to think about next year but I have a question...
I am moving to 3rd grade next year and i am a little nervous...

what is your daily routine?
Any advice or suggestions?
Do you have notebooks for each subject?

I don't work on LI or in the city but 3rd grade is 3rd grade right

I have 1 nb for each subject and 1 folder as well. I do not allow them to keep scissors, crayons etc in their desks but collect it the 1st day and put them into a plastic shoebox.
I do a pos and neg reinforcement - earning tickets for a prize box raffle with good behavior and 3 stikes and youre out for bad behavior

My schedule looks like this:

9:00- 9:20 arrival and morning work (reading, math, and cursive)
9:20- 9:25 bathroom
9:30- 10:40 Reading block
10:40- 11:20 special (prep for me)
11:30- 12:00 lunch
12:00- 12:30 recess (we teachers monitor)
12:40- 1:30 Math block
1:30- 2:20 SS or Science
2:20- 3:00 Writing or Options (an enrichment program my school has)
3:05- 3:25 DEAR
3:25-4:00 Dismissal

Do you work for the city? Because schedule is pretty dictated. Yes I have notebooks for the different subject areas

I have notebooks for each subject. I usually do reading/writing for the first hour and a half-2 different activities. Then onto math and sci/ss. Let me know if you have any questions. Where will you be teaching?

I have been teaching first grade on LI (private school) for 6 years. I am switching next year.

I have the option of how I run my class.

I will happily take any advice
