Blacking out Q
I was sitting on the floor for about 15mins working on my laptop and when I stood up and walked a few steps my vision completely blacked out - I literally couldnt see anything only black. It only lasted for a few seconds and then it returned to normal.
Anyone know what causes this?

Re: Blacking out Q
It's blood pressure....it's trying to re stabalize, but the sudden standing from sitting is just to quick. Pace yourself and it will go away it's the same as when you wake up if you pop right out of bed you will become dizzy

Re: Blacking out Q
this happens to me ALL THE TIME...especiallly now that I am pregnant...it's because of the rush of blood flow...try to take things easy and change positions more easily

Re: Blacking out Q
Its called orthostatic hypotension. Its when your blood pressure drops when you stand up.
Its very very common if you are mildly dehydrated, so drink more water!

Re: Blacking out Q
I hate it when this happens. I tend to have low blood pressure. Last month when I got out of bed I started to stretch as I was standing so I grabbed onto the wall and I started to see black dots, next thing I knew I woke up with FH standing above me and I was crying I had blacked out but fell down because of it on the tile floor. He was standing in the bathroom and heard a loud sound and came running and it was me. So I went to the Dr. that day to make sure everything was in check and it was.

Re: Blacking out Q
Could be vertigo or postural hypotension, happens from the drop of the blood pressure when you get up too fast, I mentioned it to my doc a while ago , but he said it's nothing to worry about as long as it only happens occasionally.
