Elementary Teachers - Icebreakers???
Hey! I am teaching 2nd-going-into-3rd graders this summer and tomorrow is the first day. Do you have any icebreakers you can share with me? Preferably quick and easy (read: not much prep work because I waited until the last minute like usual )
Thanks!

YES...I have a sheet that I did with my 3rd and 4th graders and you can modify it anyway you want.
Send me your email and I will email it to you.

Re: Elementary Teachers - Icebreakers???
i like the M & M or Skittles one... have them take a few and then for each candy they have to say something about themselves.
you can differentiate and have red be their most embarassing moment, brown their favorite hobby, etc.
also, you can create a quicki bingo board and put things on there like "can speak nother language" "has been to disney world" "likes to eat pizza" etc. they have to go around to other kids and get them to sign the box that applies to them. gets them out of their seat and mingling. i make a rule that they can only have two boxes filled by the same person so it forces them to talk to more than a few people.

I have done the Skittle one too, giving each color a thing they need to tell.
Also, I always do the BINGO the first day of school pretty much the same way.
I have also done three truths and a fib, where you put three interesting facts about ypurself and one fib. The group tries to guess which is which.
I have also done famous literary characters on a post it on your back. You need to figure out who you are by asking other questions. This is also good as "find your partner", maybe characters from the same book or series.
