Re: Are tomatoes OK?
I think its over, because most restaurants that had once taken them away, are now serving them again!

Re: Are tomatoes OK?
They narrowed it down to what they THOUGHT was FL and Mexico as the source now they don't even know if it was the tomatoes

Re: Are tomatoes OK?
I've been eating them all along...I figure if the stores are selling them, and the restaurants have them, it must be ok.

Re: Are tomatoes OK?
I am not even a big fan of tomatoes but I was sad to see them absent from a dish I had the other night. The waitress brought it over and they are just an "accent" to the food but I was like HEY!

Re: Are tomatoes OK?
Now they don't know if its the tomatoes that are contaminated or the plants they are coming from. Just wash them really, really well.

Re: Are tomatoes OK?
It's not over. They just ask that yesterday on the news. People think it's now safe but they said it was not. They still have not completely resolve the problem.

It turned out to not be salmonella but campylobacter another food borne illness It is from chicken usually being undercooked or a contaminated surface.
Campylobacteriosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Campylobacter. Most people who become ill with campylobacteriosis get diarrhea, cramping, abdominal pain, and fever within two to five days after exposure to the organism. The diarrhea may be bloody and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. The illness typically lasts one week. Some infected persons do not have any symptoms. In persons with compromised immune systems, Campylobacter occasionally spreads to the bloodstream and causes a serious life-threatening infection.
