San Francisco, Napa Valley, Yosemite National Park – Long w/Pics!!
My husband and I went to California for 8 days the beginning of June. We spent 3 days in San Francisco, two days in the Napa Valley, two days in Yosemite, and then back to San Francisco. We took a few tours and did a ton of sightseeing. We also squeezed in a Giants baseball game at AT&T park and an Oakland A’s game at Mcafee Coliseum.
We had a really great time. San Francisco was pretty cold – low 50’s, rainy and cloudy the first full day. We did a city tour one day and took a tour of Alcatraz Island the next. We signed up for the first Alcatraz tour of the morning, and I highly recommend doing that to beat the crowds.
The weather in Napa was perfect: high 70’s, clear blue skies, light breeze. We visited at least 16 vineyards over the course of 2 days, and did a few different tours. We were there mid-week, it felt like we had the wineries all to ourselves. My husband also planned a very romantic dinner in Napa one night for our 2 year anniversary.
Then we were off to Yosemite. What can I say….simply breathtaking. The pictures do not do it justice. I never felt so small in my life. The immense beauty of this park is overwhelming. I highly recommend the Yosemite Valley Tour. It’s a 2 hour tour in an open-air tram. It takes you around the valley floor, and stops at some great sights to see the most popular views. And since there is no roof or sides, you can see absolutely everything. My husband loved it too since he did most of the driving on our weeklong trip, and he thought he was missing out on a lot of the sights. Oh, one more recommendation for Yosemite – bring a pair of binoculars. We actually saw some mountain climbers on some rocky mountains. They were the tiniest specs, but they were there.

my dh and i spent a week in sonoma in april! i wish we had time to go to yosemite!! i went as a kid and loved it.

Awesome! I LOVE it out there, we did San Fran and Napa for our honeymoon and it was amazing. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

Thanks everyone. I have to give credit to my DH for the photos though. He used a wide angle lens for half of the trip and got some great shots.
It was a great vacation. Very active, but so worth it!

Great pics. I loved San Francisco. The seals were my favorite. Did you see the Bushman? he hangs out by Fishermans Wharf and is a street performer. He has this shrub he holds and waits for oncoming tourists. Then when he see's one he sticks out his shrub and goes ah haaaaa. It's pretty amusing.

YES! It was pretty funny. Thankfully he didn't scare ME, but he did get a lot of people around us!

I have to laugh at this because he got so many people like that. Even the toughest guys jumped and screamed. We stood across the street and watched too!
