Teachers
This is for all teachers, but it is about NYC teachers.
My DH reads the NY Post, and he brings it home so I can read it. So last night, I read this piece and got very annoyed because these writers have no clue what goes on in the classroom. How do you feel about this article?

Don't even get me started!
Call me a whiney ingrate, I don't care, but Klein has ZERO to do with the success of the kids in my school. In fact, the more his beaurocratic a$$ stays away, the better we are! My school's success is due to the teachers busting their a$$e$, not b/c Klein had a hand in it!

What does Klein have to do with anything! Every teacher in my school busted their a$$ to get the scores we did...teaching Saturday school, new programming for after school, staying up late to develop lessons to really grab my 4th graders attention....didn't see Klein in afterschool, or Saturday school or anywhere for that matter!

All good points. My school did the same but won't be able to next year because of the huge budget cuts. Brilliant. Our afterschool program this year had to end early because we lost so much money mid-year.
Klein has done nothing to improve the quality of instruction. All he has done is increase the frequency of assessment...hardly the same.

The Post is so disgusting and so is Klein. My school USED to be great and has turned into a prison since these tests started to rule the way we teach. I won't even get started on the illegal shiit that goes down every January and June just to meet his testing standards. Awful.
