nothing like a wager between a husband and a wife
to get my going.
dh and I are making a bet to see who can lose the most weight by August 1st.
neither of us are going crazy dieting (we are not good at that( we are just watching a bit more and upping our excercise routine.
he has the edge on me since he weighs more AND he just started his marathon training, so I really have to step it up.
I HATE LOSING.
especially to a big GLOATER 
anyone else use competition as a motivator.

I wouldn't go by pounds I would go by percentage. that's a fairer way of tracking it. men lose faster.

that's a good idea!
We're not in a competition, but DH told me I could spend $400 on something that I wanted if I reach my first goal by 9/20 and $200 for the next two goals.

My mom told me that if i lose a certain amount of weight she is going to spend 100 dollars of new clothes on me.

I am the worst kind of competitive....the type that doesn't even let on that she's competitive. I am definitely pushed by others and the thrill of possibly winning.

I wanted to do a detox and on the first day Rob told me I should just quit because I will never be able to do it.
I actually was ready to quit until he said that. I immediately got into high gear and finished the 10 Day Master Cleanse. I even went to a huge party with amazing food and stuck to it.
Now he is betting that I can't maintain and improve my weight loss for the next 30 days.
I am on a MISSION!

Sorry to hi-jack.......I have always been intrigued by the idea of the Master Cleanse. Do you mind sharing how much weight you lost through the 10 day program? Did you feel good or miserable?

DH and I have not had a competion but at DH work his said his friend, friend's brother, and Father had one where each put in $1,000 (money they would have spent at AC). The Father was the $3,000 winner with get this .5 of a pound .
