Ugh late evening hunger

After dinner I want sweet, bad-for-you stuff. I am fine through-out the day, but come 8-9pm, I want more food. Any suggestions to beat the late night munchies?

Re: Ugh late evening hunger

Drink lot's of water, It curbs the appetite, I had the same problem and i realized when i drank lots of water i was not hungry, also i heard if you eat banana's it takes away the urge for sweets... Have fruit or vegetables at night instead of sweets, You'll get used to it and you wont want the sweets anymore.Chat Icon Good luck.

Thank you! I have such little will power when it comes to sweets, so hopefully this will help.

Re: Ugh late evening hunger

Sometimes a warm drink takes the edge off of my sweets craving, ie, cup of tea with a tad of sugar & milk, sugar free hot chocolate, a glass of ovaltine milk, etc.

This is a huge problem of mine and I tried fixing it by drinking water. It fills me up quick.
Or if I really want something, I dip into my Trader Joes Cat Cookies (15 of them,(they are the size of teddy grahams) are 1.5 grams of fat and I think 110 calories..I don't even eat the 15, I take maybe 5 or 6 them with some water or FF milk.
OR 1 scoop of low fat ice cream def. satisfies my craving.

I make myself an Alba shake. Its only 60 or 70 calories a packet (I forget). You can get it in Chocolate or Vanilla flavored. Add ice and water and put in a blender.....if you prefer, you can add a drop of milk to it as well.

I add fruit.....usually strawberries or blueberries; either frozen or fresh. Sometimes if I use the vanilla, I will add Cocoa Mix which has almost zero calories.

Sometimes I will switch the flavors up a bit and make my own conconctions like adding Vanilla, Banana or Coconut extract (all zero calories BTW). It really is soo good!

It fills me up so much........and before I know it.....Im ready for bed Chat Icon

Re: Ugh late evening hunger

I had this problem for a long time and it still comes back to haunt me every now and then.

The suggestions above are great! Once you don't snack a few times in the evening you realize that you don't really *need* it and you can kick the habit to the curb. Good luck!

Like a PP said, I usually have a cup of tea with sugar - and I use real sugar, not the chemical stuff.

Now that it's summer I often have a fudgicle or a creamscicle (again, the 'real' kind not diet) they’re only like 60 calories and totally satisfy me.

Sory of along the sames lines as drink lots of water, drink Pelligrino! It has a little carbonation and will fill you up - plus it tastes better than water.
