Sam, I never read The Gold Coast. It's worth reading, I assume? (I finally have time to read for myself! )
Right now I'm reading Unaccustomed Earth, by Jhumpa Lahiri. Have you ever read any of her books? She's out of this world.

I want to read The Namesake. We saw the film and liked it a lot.
The Gold Coast is a good summertime book. It is one of the best books I've found set on Long Island. I think the cover bills it as The Great Gatsby meets the The Godfather.
I'm filling up on as many books as I can before returning to work this fall!

I am so excited. I think I am going to read the first two chapters now.
I must say that I credit the Gold Coast with being one of the main reasons we became friends  A sequel sounds amazing. I want to reread the original.
