where have you traveled w/your dog?

we just got a pup and love to travel...any good getaway ideas? i don't want to fly-so it would have to be close--any pet friendly places??

we bring our dog to Myrtle Beach all the time. She loves the car rides and loves traveling with us!

We went to Maine & most businesses were friendly to Bruno.
Downside -- walking around town many people had their doors wide open and Bruno tried to visit their homes .

i know you said you don't want to fly.. but you have to go to san francisco with your pet!!!! we had the best time

It isn't close but we are bringing Brutus to Key West. There are dog friendly stores, bars and restaurants there! I can't wait.

We brought our dog to Bar Harbor Maine. Very dog friendly and we stayed at a nice pet friendly hotel, Atlantic Oakes.

thank u so much for the ideas---i usually travel at least 2x/year and i am in withdrawals b/c i haven't traveled for a whole year (well except for skiing--but i don't count that!!HA!) and now that we got the pup---i am getting antsy!! i think we'll try PA first and then try something a little farther away.....

well, washington DC was *super* dog friendly with great dog friendly hotels... kimpton hotels (yahoo it). they have a few locations in DC. they even have restaurants that allow you to dine with your pets -- and a lot of the sights to see are outside and open so you can bring the dog. then, they have parks and such that are great.

there is a B&B near new hope, PA that is dog friendly - i've heard great things about that place! other than that and san diego (too far) that's about it. hope that helps... GL!

We've taken all our dogs to the Myrtle Beach area because my mom lives there.

We rented a beach house in Montauk that allows dogs but I think a bunch of places allow dogs (especially off season).


And this place upstate that was a 70's throw back!! Boom chica wow wow

All of the above were very dog-friendly and had B&B's where we could stay with her.

We stayed at the Wedgewood Inn...very nice B&B and there was a big field across the street to run the dogs.
