Jacen Steven 6-30-08
Well my birth story is going to be rather short. 
I was due July 10th and ended up going early. On June 30th i woke up at 5:30am to pee and that's when i thought i lost my mucus plug. So i knew today was going to be the day because i was also having light contractions. But since i had been having some minor BH's here and there, i didn't think much of it. So i went downstairs and went on the computer. Then i took a shower. Around 6:30 when the contractions were getting stronger and i was still bleeding... i found out from my SIL that it wasn't my mucus plug that i lost, but that it was actually my showing. So i woke up my husband and my aunt (who came over from england to be here when  was born) and told them to get showered and dressed. I had a doctors appointment at 8:15am that morning anyway (originally was going alone) so i wanted them to get ready to come with me. I started writing down the contractions and they were about 3 minutes apart and about 45 seconds long. They were getting stronger and stronger.
We went to my appointment and i was 4 cm so they sent me to the hospital. When i got to my room and was checked by the doctor, i was 6 cm dilated.
I went back and forth about getting the epidural or not. I wanted to do it without it, but the contractions were right on top of each other and stronger. Plus i didn't know if i was still progressing at a fast rate or not and they said the doctor wouldn't be checking me out prior to getting it. Well i decided to get it and wouldn't you know it, after i got it... the doctor came in and said i was at 8cm.  Then 40 minutes later he came in and i was at 10cm, but he wanted to wait for the epi to wear off first. This is what took the longest. It took about 2 hours.
After 40 minutes of pushing (10 pushes)... Jacen Steven was born at 2:31pm.   Luckily i didn't have to have an episitomy (sp??) because i tore naturally.
He weighed 6 lbs and 15 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long. And he was absolutely perfect.
