So who checks the sales circulars before getting groceries?

And do you buy based upon sale price? Do you go to several stores to get the best prices? Besides doing the grocery game, what are your tricks for shopping?

I do us coupons I do look at the ads before going however I wont go to one store for this and another store for something else. I live close to a stop and shop and thats it (well king kullen too but that store is way overpriced) So if Stop and shop has something for a good price then ill go the same thing with pathmark those are the only stores I shop at.

I also check the circular but I only shop at one supermarket. ctown since is cheaper than associated.
I also bought a three month membership at
www.dinnerplanner.com and it has helped me a lot to save money because I only buy what I need and not what I want or by impulse.

we only shop (basically by laziness and routine) and Waldbaums and Pathmark (and we actually just 'ventured' into the Pathmark world )

So usually we compare the circulars online to see who has more sales on the stuff that we need most, and we go to that one. I hate grocery shopping, so i dont go store hopping. My dad and FIL are both pro's at that though

I check the circular and stock up on sale items.

As for micro meals, I will alternate between WW, Lean Cuisine, and Healthy choice- I only buy the ones that are on sale.

I check the circulers and only buy say chicken breasts on sale when they are $1.98. I then filet them and pound them into cutlets myself. I refuse to pay over $5.00 per pound for cutlets.

I only check the Pathmark circular, make a list and send my DH shopping.

I never did to recently. started even getting rid of my sunday circular coupons on eBay. And people actually bought them.

I check the circulars, and do my shopping at whichever supermarket has more stuff on sale that I need..either stop and shop or waldbaums.

I don't really check the circulars until I am at a particular supermarket. I do clip coupons from the sunday paper!

I only go to Pathmark. I don't check the circular, b/c everything that is onsale has a sign. I also stock up when things like cereal or taco mix is onsale.

I won't buy things like cereal if its not onsale. I only buy snacks when they are onsale. I am a very good food shopper. Occassionally DH comes with me and we spend at least $40 more.

ETA: I like to look at the bottom of the receipt to see how much I saved! The most was $20 once

I live close to a Waldbaums and a Stop & Shop. DH and I check the circulars before shopping..sometimes I will go to one and he will go to the other if the deals are really good....usually it is just Stop & Shop.

I check ALL the circulars and then cross check my coupons. I usually ONLY buy when it's on sale and try to buy if I have a coupon also.
I'll buy the double issue of the paper to get double coupons and then bulk up if it's a great sale.

Like when chicken cutlets are $1.99 a lb, I'll buy 4 trays
I've gotten VO5 Shampoo on sale for $.79 a bottle plus a $50 cent coupon off 2.


Also, down here in GA, Walmart is a supermarket and they honor ALL OTHER CIRCULARS. Walmart is usually cheaper, but there is the occassional $1.99 for a gallon of milk or Rice A Roni for $.69 a box.

I always use coupons and look at circulars and make a list.......I save so much $$$$this way
