Sweet Mandarin in Sayville

anyone get takeout from there? if so, how is it? their takeout menu seems to be a little on the pricey side (for the Chinese food), but worth it if it's really good.

DH and I ate there last weekend - we didn't have traditional Chinese food. DH had filet mignon prepared on a hibachi and I had shrimp with pecans - it was phenomenal!

The food is really god but the sushi is awful. (I find that that's the case when it's a Japanese and Chinse resturant. They should stick to one!)

my neighbor swears by thier food, so I ordered from there one night instead of my usually wonderful JJ Dynasty...I thought it was soooo gross, overpriced and nasty. we got an order of fried oysters, sooooo slimy, and fishy tasting, like they weren't properly cleaned.

DH and I went there a few years ago, before the renovation and never went back until 2 weeks ago. the 1st time we went there it was just nasty!!! but we gave them another shot and it was really good.

but now I don't think we're going back.

OMG this place is great. It's very cute inside, city like and the food is great. I am not sure what the other posters are talking about but it is kind of to each their own. Try it, worse is you hate it and never return. I've been there a few times and I love the sushi there
