I'm dwelling and procastinating on taking my twins to the beach (they are 18 mths one is walking) alone. I have to take the stroller. And that's not easy to move in sand!

How do you moms do it?

Re: So how do you go to the beach with twins?

Lets see, My girls are 2 1/2 and i went to the beach alone with them once and it wasn't very good. They are both walking and i had a ton of stuff with me i had to carry everything and then walk from the car down to the beach..then they were both tired of walking so i had to swith off carrying them..Now i only go to the beach if someone else is with me. Definately bring the stroller if you could and ty it out. My girls are just all over the place right now...good luck!

I haven't tried it yet. But, if I do it would be only to a small beach. (Jones Beach I would go to the bay)

I've gone over it in my head and I just don't see how I could do it by myself.

Re: So how do you go to the beach with twins?

I go to the beach a couple of times a week and most
weekends. They are almost 20 months but I have been going since they were 5 months. BUT i have a cabana and a jogging stroller. Two essentials. I carry everything with one of those mommy hooks on the stroller.

I would not go on day like today. It is too hot. Bring an umbrella. I rotate activities, play in the sand go in the water to get cleaned. Then we eat while we are clean and then
go to the playground.

Then go back and play in the sand and repeat.Chat Icon

They love it and so do I most days.Chat Icon

If you can push them in the jogger through the sand then I think it can be done. I am a whimp and can't do that so I haven't attempted this yet. I think the hardest part would be setting up the blanket and umbrella while they are wandering off. If they are sitting in the jogger while you are doing that, then the rest of the trip would be easy.

We just got back from Myrtle Beach, and never even went to the beach. I don't think we will do the beach until next year, because they are all over the place. My dds are 21 months.

I brought them a handful of times last year (they were about 11 months at the time). I was able to do it myself by using the wagon, loading them in with all of our "luggage." The big issue is that you don't get very far on the beach so we usually camped out a few feet inChat Icon This year I've gone a few times but haven't even attempted it alone. I know my limits and know that they need a one to one ratio b/c they love the water and enjoy running toward it. It's definitely an outing worth asking a friend or family member for help.

My girls are older now but I used to take them all the time. I never even tried to do the ocean I kept it at the North Shore Beaches. I had a big wagon, would pile them in it with all the gear and just go...

I have never gone solo and won't ever. If I do go i bring at least one friend who does not have kids or my family has gone with me. It's just not worth it at times. And there is no way i could keep them both with me now that they walk.

I went this weekend wtih my family and it took almost 2 hours to get ready to go - packing, sun tan lotion, changing and we were there a grand total of 45 minutes and then people were mad I wanted to leave. My boys were hot, they hated the sand and water......not fun.
