Weird question..tortellini salad..

I always get this salad from the local italian deli. I LOVE it!!

It has cubed cheese in it, red peppers, green peppers, onions and tri color tortellini. Sometimes they have chicken in it, sometimes they dont.

It has a slight flavoring to it..I wouldnt even really call it a dressing. Doesnt taste too much like vinegar and doesnt taste too much like italian either.

Does anyone know what this may be? Or if you make this, what do you use?? I want to make it tomorrow and I am dieing to get it to taste the same. Any ideas what they put on it??

My mom's recipe for the dressing is:

1/4 cup of olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
salt
pepper
onion powder
basil
(all spices are to taste)

Mix up the dressing first and then pour it on the tortellini salad. It's got a light taste because a little bit of dressing is going a long way.

This may be a little different from what you usually get, but it's delicious! I hope this helps!

I use Ken's Golden Italian. It is very light, not overpowering.

You can use some mayo and the Italian Good Seasonings dried italian mix packet.

I got a receipe from someone who posted it on here- thank you for whoever posted it, it is/was delicious.
I boil the tortellini and rinse , add brushetta to it and mix it, and chill. YUM!

if the on you like doesnt have an overpowering flavor to it, its prob just basic herbs & a lil evoo.. I make this alot & the veggies alone give it alot of flavor.. Soemtimes I even throw in sausage instead of chciken
