i am soooo pizzed - the one right by my office is closing. i always thought they did great business, it's in a high traffic commercial area and right across from the family court.
I am so shocked they are closing this one, it is always busy.

Re: Starbucks closings....
they are closing most of the stores they opened in 2006. My sister is a manager for them and hers is one of the stores closing. They were told, but there is a very big window of when they could close, anywhere between 30days and next May. They were told they would get 30 days notice.
My local SB is closing too, and the guy there said the same thing.
Dont know about the grocery ones though, although I do know they are owned and operated differently then the stores, SB employees dont get their discounts at them.

Re: Starbucks closings....
I agree about the one on Hempstead tpk across from NUMC, I use to love this one but lately the workers aren't nice and usually mess up the drink.
I like the one on Old Country Rd. by the wantagh pkwy

I am not shocked the Roslyn Heights one is closing. What an odd place for a Starbucks, next to a 7-11 which has been around forever. Both of the Great Neck stores are staying open. My new Starbucks is staying!!

I must be doing my part the one in Mattituck is staying open
I just looked for that- I've only been in there like twice since it opened, so I guess I've contributed to it too! Southold is closing though- I've never been to that one....
I was there once, right before going to the Indian museum with Emmas K class. It's by Roberts Jewelers.

I think these starbucks(in supermarkets, hotels...) are all franchises...
The one by me is obviously not closing, it's one of the busiest(and smallest) in the country-the "gateway to the hamptons". I love it in the off-season

Is this the one on 39(the old Greasy spoon)? It's a terrible location, they don't have one somewhere 'in' town?

The one closest to us is closing but I couldn't care less, I like 7-11 coffee much better.

yes it is. There is one in Bridgehampton and Hampton Bays, both of which are much safer to get to! 2 weeks ago DH and I took our lives in our hands trying to pull in there heading west

Where is this list?
Actually I just checked the website. Im stoked cause the one on my corner isn't closing but the one in East Meadow is. Its strange cause that was one of the first ones around here. We use to go all the time.
The EM starbucks was "my" starbucks It seemed to be a great location- near NUMC and EM High school.
This sounds so silly, but I had some very nice times sitting in the chairs by the fireplace with my mom or a friend. I'm so down now!
I used to go to that one too. Now I like closer to the one i Levittown, which looks like it's staying open.

Re: Starbucks closings....
they were opening up at the speed of light. I was wondering for a long time how it was possible to sustain all these stores.

I'm not a huge starbucks fan but i feel like there is one on pratically every corner. I think they went well above what was actually needed.

Yes! I'd rather drive to Hampton Bays to get coffee then cross the highway to pull into that one They need one in the village of SH!
