? about jogging/running
Hi I'm new to this board heck I'm new to exercising But I would just like some info. I started jogging about 2wks ago. I try to jog for atleast 30-40mins atleast 1x a day. But when I drive the distance I jogged I haven't got past 2 1/2 miles in that time. Is that bad? Am I jogging to slow? Will I eventually get another mile in, in that time? And lastly will this even help with my body or do I need to push to do more? My dh says he's sees a difference already but it can't be that big of a difference since I just started or maybe he's just trying to be nice Sorry for all the questions but thanks for anyone that can help

Re: ? about jogging/running
I think running/jogging 30-40 minutes a day is GREAT for your endurance. You don't have to worry about speed right now. It's seems like you are doing ~12 min miles (12+12+6=30) a very fast walk is ~15 min miles. Keep up what you are doing, build your endurance and then you can work on speed training, like intervals and tempo runs.

Thanks for your advise. To be honest I don't think I can go any faster at this point

Re: ? about jogging/running
If you keep up with it, you will! Start logging your milage and times - you will see it go down. It might be a few weeks more, but it will happen. When I started running after DS#2, I thought I would never get back to where I once was. I wasn't able to run during this pregnancy and started very slow (c/s as well), but as I built my endurance back up, I got over a hump. I'm still no where near my old pace, but baby steps!
I have routes mapped out for me for different milage, so I know the distance and can time it on that. I don't like wearing a watch, but I think at some point I will have to.

Re: ? about jogging/running
Thanks everyone, I do see an improvement each time I go, but I just wish I was doing more. But today I was happy with myself, I went for 45mins ran 2.4 miles and walked a mile. But I have to tell you I was exhaused afterwards. I've only been bring one child with me whie running but today I had both in the jogger stroller and I have to say I like it better with only one

ah...I didn't know that you were running with a jogging stroller! that will make a difference! It adds about 1 minute to my miles when I push one...I know it's on wheels, but it definitely slows you down! (but I also read that you burn more calories)

Well buring more calories would be a good thing especially since I'm sitting here eating ice cream
