classroom supplies
Where do you buy or order your classroom supplies from? I used to get EVERYTHING from LLWEANS, but now it's gone! Can I still order from weans online??

You can still order from Ll weans online. I just went to Educational Warehouse on Glen Cove Road and they had some good stuff. I don't know what you are looking for.

Thanks for the code and tip! I moved and am close to LLweans but they are closed...I used to go to Rockville Centre but that is not close anymore and with a newborn can't run around getting supplies this year...I will order..anyone get their order shipped to school? It would be easier to have it there when I go back then to take it with me..any thoughts?

getting it shipped to school is the only way i do it. in my district, we get $200.00 for supplies and i got adidtional for textbooks. we do all our own ordering on-line and it is sent to the school. i have never had a problem!
I would do that... it's so much easier. just make sure it's YOUR name on the shipping label so the secreatires know who gets it. we also have to turn in the packing slips to the secretaries...they use that as a receipt.

Thanks everyone! I'll be ordering from Weans online tonight! I too have a newborn (well 2.5 month old) and can't see myself standing in those long lines.

There is Lakeshore on Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park and a place called Vijay's on Jericho Tpke in Mineola (never been there though).

I just don't get it?! Why did Weans close. They had to be bringing in money. The line was always miles long, winding around the store.

i don't know how it is compared to Weans, but I love it, particularly if you teach the primary grades. you won't find too much there if you're upper elementary or above though.
