spotting

I had absolutely no spotting at all in the first trimester and then in the second, I have been having it every now and then. It is mostly brown, but I still get worried. Did anyone else experience this at all. Thank you.

Yup!! I did, at week 18, I started spotting brown, I called the doc and he said brown blood is usually old and no cause for alarm, so he said to follow up with my doc in the AM (we were in manhattan at the time), but I felt so uneasy that I went straight to the ER and they verified that my cervix was closed and again said brown blood is safer than bright red. It can be an old tear or old blood from rough intercourse, etc. Call you doc, it will make you feel better if he takes a quick peek, but it's probably nothing.

Thanks, I was actually at the doctors office yesterday for a check up and everything seemed ok. I have been having this once a week since I hit the second trimester. It is usually only when i wipe, but now on my panty liner too.

It was only in my CM (sorry TMI). Ok, this is gross, but make sure it is not bowel movement. My docs office kept asking me if I was sure it was not afte I had a bowel movemennt, they said lots of women have problems with the anal muscle which gets a little relaxed as your body adjusts and sometimes a little excess comes out (gross, I know, but I'm just relaying what my docs offic told me)
