? about all this race talk
Well as you can tell I'm very new to this jogging thing (about a month in now) but when I see everyone talking about a race it's like "5k, 25k etc what does that mean? Is a 5k race a 5mile race?  I know a stupied question but I just have to know.

Definitely not a stupid question.
A 5k is 5 kilometers which equals 3.12 miles, a 10k is 6.25 miles and so on...

A 10k race = 6.2 miles, and a 5k race = 3.1 miles
Then there are marathons and half marathons which are about 26 miles and 13 miles.
