honestly, i dont have a probelm with "mutts" whatsoever.... what i DO have a problem with is so called breeders naming them"deisgner dogs" to make a profit off of.
yes they are cute and make good pets, BUT they should not be sold for so much money.

diana..... i have to admit i dont remember sending Tanaholic any FM. needless to say i drank and typed which i am not happy about. i will have to go into my outbox to see what i said.
no, i dont use mutt in a bad way at all, i mean you shouldnt pay tons of $$$ for one though. they are not purebred therefore shoudl not cost you more than a few hundred tops. they shouldt be "bred" though. i hope you understand what i mean, i dont mena we shouldt have utts in the world, or anything bad, i mean people shouldnt PORPOUSLY breed them though.


if you'd like i would absolutely find some information on backyard breeders for you. i cant give it all to you now as i am on my way out but i would definatly gather some info for you.

it doesnt mean that they are bad ppl, it means they breed for money, or as a hobby, not to better teh breed, they breed mixed breeds, and use terms like "t-cup" and overprice their dogs. they often dont do proper health tests and whatnot.

theres alot of info, and like i said if youd like me to find some stuff for you i most certainly will.

its a learning experience. i got my chi from a backyard breeder, and now i know better.

no one wants to think their dog came from a backyard breeder (or puppymill to those who buy fom hsops) but its a sad reality and i just pray we can get past this little tiff and you can see my point.

I am sure that there are many breeders out there like that - and I do have to say that I don't believe Priceless to be one.

I emailed her bc I think the "$7500" on the site was a typo. I will find out shortly and let you know.

In all honestly - we did not pay a ridiculous amount for our puppies. We paid $900 in total (and that included shipping and a crate for them to be sent it)

Priceless took them to the vet and sent us with all the paperwork. She also has a five year health guarantee.

They are in her house - not in cages raised by her and her family.

If she was in it for the money -- why would she donate the $$ from our litter to a family in need during the holidays.

So while I am sure there are MANY breeders out there who do not do the right thing -- I truly believe that Priceless is NOT one of them. I would recommend them to anyone. Our puppies were so amazing when we got them and still are.

there is a big misconception about some backyard breeders. it doesnt mean the dogs are kept in cages. theyre usually always kept in the home. and are often healthy as can be.

judging by hte site i do not think $7500 was a typo. im sure she proofread her site. but seeing that you emailed her i am hoping that means you too think that is outragous to charge for a dog.

honestly, imo $900 is wayyy too much for a mixed breed. what excatly are you paying for? you can not show the dog or breed it or enter it in such activities, you cant register it, therefore it shouldnt cost so much money. the most a mixed breed should be, i feel, is $400--including shipping.
but thats your perogative. its just weird that you could have got a purebred for half that amount. i just dont understnad the reasoning for such high prices on mixed dogs. it doesnt make sense to me.
i have 3 purebreds and none of them were that much.
(well, dharma is a very rare breed and is meant for show so she was $1000+, but i didnt pay that because i adopted her)

im not saying your breeder necassarily is in it for the money COMPLETELY, but i do belive its incentive. shes selling dogs for $7500, she can afford to give the money of one litter away... besides im not sying shes a liar, but how do you rEALLY know what she did wiht that money.

like i said, she sounds like a nice perosn, but according to her site she is most definatly a backyard breeder.

if you would like, i can post her link on a dog forum im on (globalpaw) and then post their reactions to it. its a bunch of dog people, and then you would see that it isnt only me who knows shes a BYB.

I do think that $7500 is a crazy amount and just noticed also that isn't one of her dogs. She hooks up with other breeders and advertises her dogs on their site.

Honestly - I don't know if she was a BYB or not because I don't know enough about them. I do know that I am happy with my dog and think that she really took good care of her.

I am honestly happy that you found your perfect puppy, trust me, i come off bad sometimes, but i couldnt be happier for you, dogs are ym fave thing i nthe world and it makes me happy to see more people getting them! it shows that you guys really love your pups and i am not tryignt o knock you guys down, it may be hard to actually belive that, but the only thing i want to knock down is backyard breeding.
i think its great your dog is healthy and happy.
i will try to get some info for you soon. just so you can have it if youd like to read up on it.
not too many people have even heard of the term "backyard breeder".

at least i wasnt SOBER when i called someone "stupid"!!!!!! (which we must admit is tame) and i was mature enough to apologize.

not to mention i was in an arguement over something i feel strongly about.. i didnt insult anyone just to be a bytch like LBG30 did.

maybe one day she will grow up and pick on people her own size...... or admit what a fool she was for doing so in hte first place.
