Today is my last week off...
Yesterday was my last Sunday of no Sunday night blues.
Just feeling sorry for myself and sad at leaving NY.

I'm right there with you. I'm looking forward to t fresh new year, but I know that will last through the first 2 teacher workdays and I'll be in a funk once the students come back......
That said, how many days till Christmas break?

Nah- you're in the right field. It's just so hard to go from having no responsibilities back to thr stresses of planning again. Once the school year is in full swing, are you still totally miserable?

I know what you mean...I think for me though now it has to do with being on a Florida sched - so early - still in a NY mindset! And yes, like Poruss said, also has to do with having completely no responsibilities all summer long to being thrown back in!

Well...let's just say I'm fine once I get there. But I can't STAND Sunday nights.
You know what it is? I'm a damned good teacher, but I'm not a planner. I can't stand being forced to write out plans--I'm very much a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants educator, and I find that works best for me, and for my kids.
I just hate everything that goes along with teaching that's NOT teaching...if that makes any sense.

OMG- I am the SAME way. Now I must say, I am not a teacher- but a speech therapist in an elementary school. I almost NEVER have plans for sessions with kids and literally just go with it.
When I DO plan, I am so much more relaxed. But getting myself to actually sit and plan sessions/activities is the worst.
That said though, I find my best sessions with kids are the ones that are not planned. But I do hate the scramble.....

yup--usually right around 3:00 for me. Just early enough that it's technically still the weekend, but late enough that you know the inevitable is coming...

yup--usually right around 3:00 for me. Just early enough that it's technically still the weekend, but late enough that you know the inevitable is coming...
yeah - I just get that feeling in my stomach and it seems like the rest of the day is wasted because as you said, I'm just waiting for the inevitable to come
