Packing help for an Alaskan Cruise
We are leaving for Alaska in 2 weeks and I am stressing about packing. People that have been, can you enlighten me? We are doing a 7 day cruise with a 4 day pre-cruise tour on land and 2 nights on the end of the trip in Vancouver.
Any advice and/or tips would be great! Thanks!

I have the same recommendations that I had 2 weeks ago, on your other thread about the same topic.

Re: Packing help for an Alaskan Cruise
I went years ago in June. Think of packing for a colder summers day. It's not as cold as you think it might be, but it's colder then what is normal for summer for sure. I would bring maybe one to two pairs of shorts, jeans, summer pants, tshirts and sweatshirts. Also make sure you have a rain jacket, it rained a lot there when we were there and it was misty on other days.
Our cruise had a heated pool so bring bathing suits. And don't forget about formal nights (if your cruise has them).
It was one of the most memorable trips of my life...you will have a great time!

Re: Packing help for an Alaskan Cruise
I don't remember wearing shorts while I was there. I went at the end of August. I brought clothes which could be layered. Short sleeved tees, long sleeves and fleeces. I wore mostly jeans and kakhis during the day. I remember it being pretty chilly in the evenings. I also would recommend a rain coat.

Re: Packing help for an Alaskan Cruise
I've never been there for a cruise, but I've been to Fairbanks in August and it was in the 40's. I would imagine a ship would be cooler. From what I remember, it's also rainy this time of year. But that's in Faribanks.
Check weather.com it gives you a 10 day forecast.
Have fun!

Re: Packing help for an Alaskan Cruise
We did an Alaskan cruise a couple of years ago, but it was still very early in the season. We were the 2nd or 3rd ship out of the season. It was nice during the day, although I never wore shorts. It would be around the 60 degree mark, but remember if you are on the boat and outside while the boat is still going, it seems colder. I just brought clothes I could layer.
The evenings were on the colder side, but we didn't stay out on deck all that much at night.
