ahhhhhh i need help!!!! mosquito bites PLEASE I CAN NOT TAKE THE SCRATCHING ANYMORE
i was at the beach yesterday(all for about 2 min and that is no joke) and got eaten ALIVE!!!!! i could not tell you how many bits i have on me i am going NUTS and can not stop scratching i was at smith point with one of my dogs while dd was at the high school. so i said ok let me go and hang out by the beach for a little and omg i got out of my car and 2 min. later right back and the damage was done. i even got told by my boss today to go in the break room for a few min. because of how bad i could not stop scratching.... i have tried alcohol , benadryl cream and i am still scratching like crazy and it hurts
please what else can i use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ps. the worse part is that a few of them look like a white head pimple should i be worried

You should try taking Benadryl pills - the mosquitos really love my daughter and it helps her a lot. I would only take them though if you can veg out on the couch because they really make you sleepy.

try calamine lotion.
Or aveeno bath.
Not sure why I'm thinking vinegar but maybe that is for sunburn
eta: i spent every weekend of my childhood camping at that beach and every summer i looked like i had the chicken pox. Calamine and aveeno are what my mom always did for me.

i might have one or 2 bites of the flies but the rest is mosquito bites.... i woke up in the middle of the night scrathcing up a storm i put on more of the gel and then after that not working i took benadryle pills. yes i feel back to sleep but i woke to being ichy still i think maybe i will try the aveeno... thanks for your ideas

Okay this sounds stupid but try White Vinegar. My dad taught me that. and it really works. IT will probably sting for a few seconds and you will first smell like vinegar but it really does work. I try to avoid going out of the house without bug spray now if i know i will be outside for even a half hour.

Sounds like chiggers. I hear they are out east on Long Island. I got about 80 bites on a recent trip out east. I counted. I was in AGONY!!!!
The only thing that worked was making a paste of baking soda and warm water and covering the bites in it. I left it on for 20 mintues. It stung but it took the itch a way for a long time. 4-5 hours.

As weird as this sounds, my mother got bit a couple of times the other day and her neighbor told her to put VICKs (vapor rub) on them...I dont know what that has to do with anything but my mother said it helped.

never mind i looked them up..... they are not what got me. they are mosquitos that got me . chiggers don't fly

I use either After Bite or some rubbing alcohol on them. Also, if you put a X in the middle of them with your nail, it will stop the itching IMMEDIATELY!!!!! **This is an old summer cottage remedy**

For future reference you might want to try this Bug Patch I think it's only available online. I haven't tried it myself yet but my coworker swears by it. She used it when she went camping and she said not one bite!

it will sound weird, but ammonia works. I think that is what is in After Bite. I didn't have any, so I was so desperate that I actually sprayed WINDEX on my legs, and it WORKED for a little while!!
I feel your pain, I am DELICIOUS to mosquitos... I bought a can of OFF spray and wear it all the time. I sat in a BBQ for like 4 hours and they didn't bite me, which is AMAZING.

THis actually does work, and you can also try putting deodorant on the bites, it helps with the itching temporarily.

Two weeks ago I got 18 bites all over my legs. I got this stuff called Stingggggg from a health food store...and it was AMAZING!!!!! Get this stuff...it's more of a gel...and feels cool on...its AWESOME!!!!
