Booked Saratoga Springs for Labor day weeknd...Dr''s orders...LOL

So our therapist gave us a direct order...GO AWAY JUST THE TWO OF YOU, without DD.

As an early Anniversary gift to each other we booked Saratoga Springs for 2 nights 3 days on labor day weekend. We are staying here: Saratoga Hilton .

Does anyone know of stuff to do there (besides the races...we a going to do that!)? and some great restaurants? or places to see live music? I want us to "play" like we did before DD. TIA! Chat Icon

The main street, Broadway, is filled with restaurants and bars and places to hear music. All you have to do is just walk down the block and see what catches your eye.

There are also a lot of cute little shops too.

Going to the track is fun too. I know they also have a slot machine only casino near there, but I've never been to it.

I'm actually going to be up in Saratoga on Saturday so I'll look around for any interesting spots to go to.

AWESOME!!! Thank you!!! I heard that One Caroline Street is great...organic food, young crowd, live music. Caroline street is right off of Broadway and a 5 minute walk from our hotel. After that, I have no other places to check out.

Please post when you come back from Saratoga. THANKS!!!! Chat Icon

Well, SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) has Crue Fest starring Motley Crue with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx:A.M. and Trapt on 8/31.

We saw the Police there last weekend.

I have no specific restaurant recommendations.

I used to live in Saratoga.

Longfellow's is a really nice, romantic restaurant. Panza's is also very nice. This one is a newer very nice restaurant.

Uncommon Grounds is a really great coffee shop on Broadway. Hang out in the park in the center of town and try the water from the springs!

Gaffney's Bar off of Broadway is the most crowded bar, but is not a very young crowd. There is an outside seating area that is really nice at night. Sometimes Gaffney's has bands at night.

Yaddo is a beautiful artist colony in Saratoga. You arent allowed in the house, but can hang out on the gorgeous grounds. We usually bring a book or game and hang out for a few hours.

There's also mini-golf and stuff like that too.

You have to go to Hattie's for fried chicken!!!!! Small, quaint, no frills, but the food is great. They even beat Bobby Flay in a Fried Chicken battle!!!!!

The last time I went to Longfellow's it was terrible....food, service, everything......shame because it's so beautiful.......

There's a restaurant that jenBenMen and I went to with my parents before my wedding, (those are the in-laws she speaks of) and I believe it's pretty close to your hotel, I'll find out the name.

I'll think of mor and let you know......

OK, the restaurant is called Forno, it should be right across the street from your hotel.
You must also go to Beverly's for lunch on Phila.
Don't go to the Olde Bryan Inn!!!!! YUK!
And for great burgers and beer, the Parting Glass on Lake Avenue near the track. I haven't been there in ages, maybe I'll go this weekend......Chat Icon
