Reasonable flights to FL in late Sept?
We're flying out either friday the 26th or sat the 27th of september and returning home on wed the 1st of october. Want to fly out of either Islip (preferred), JFK or LaGuardia and indo Orlando MCO. Any suggestions? Everything seems so expensive.

There's a $224 flight on Delta from JFK to MCO but it's on Wed Oct. 1st (I'm not sure if you meant Wed the 1st or Fri the 3rd).

We just got RT on Delta leaving JFK on 9/24 and return on 9/28 to Orlando for $213 including taxes.
Directly on Delta website.

Re: Reasonable flights to FL in late Sept?
We are flying to MCO on 9/27 - we booked a while back when the fares were cheaper ($220 pp). Be careful with delta - they are playing around with their schedules a lot - the flights now are about $700-500 pp. We were bumped from our seats for no reason and they cancelled our flight coming back and bumped us to a flight 5-6 hours earlier and not sitting together 3 middle seats all over the plane (we are flying with a 15 month old.) It was fixed but after a big headache and we now have to be at the counter when the desk opens to get our seats going down changed if possible. I would try to avoid delta if you can - they are really playing with their schedules and from what we were told - seriously overbooking their flights (per their customer service dept).
Check out jet blue, southwest, american - I think they have some better rates and times. But we paid about $850 for our tickets and now the other airlines want about $1100-1200 for 3 tickets. Unfortunately, now that the airlines are hurting they are overbooking flights, cutting back on # of flights, cancelling/changing times and raising prices.

We just booked a Continental Flight into West Palm on 9/27 (I know.. no where near Orlando), but the tickets were pretty cheap, around $220

Re: Reasonable flights to FL in late Sept?
I guess it depends on how you define reasonable.
Southwest has flights for around $250-$260 for those days.
According to Expedia, Delta and American have flights for under $200 out of LGA and JFK if you leave on Sat instead of Fri. They are on American and Delta and are non stop (it's usually a little cheaper if you book directly through the airline).
ETA - The cheaper flights are later in the day though.
