1st timer to Orlando/WDW

I'm so excited!!!
DH and I are going for a week on our babymoon to Orlando.

we will be staying at a family member's house and flying using family passes on Jetblue.

What kinds of things are must-do's?
What would be off limits to a 12 week preggo like me?
We won't have time to make dining reservations for WDW rest's so where can we eat locally that is still good?

Any advice/ tips would be well appreciated!!!

Definatly go to the Boardwalk and stroll there at night, I loved the performers they have there. And Down Town Disney is nice too. Do Epcot, walking through all the countries is nice and there are lots of places to sit and rest, and go into the shops for a/c breaks! (my reccomendation for fireworks in epcot is to get a spot in Italy)

Have fun and stay cool !!

A lot of good advice above. Make sure you work in lots of breaks, drink a ton of fluids since it will be very hot, you might want to get a hand held fan or mister to help a bit with the heat. Wear very comfy shoes and know where the ladies rooms are...LOL.

There are tons to do when pregnant - and even a lot of rides that are okay- in fact I think there are more rides you can go on - than not.

Re: 1st timer to Orlando/WDW

How late are the parks open?

I'd like to go early and rest in the late afternoon then do something after dinner if possible

This link is from WDW's website - it is the calendar for every park listed by months - you can get times, special events etc from it.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/parkhours/calendarHome?id=MKCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage

That is a perfect plan - I think most people who are pregnant or who have kids plan a mid-day break where they go back and nap, or nap and swim then return in the evening for dinner etc.

Re: 1st timer to Orlando/WDW

Must do prego safe attractions by park (?- means I'm not sure if it's prego safe, but it's not a rollercoaster) (!- means you can not miss it because it is truly awesome!)

Magic Kingdom-
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin (!)
Carousel of Progress (Cheesy, but I love - and great for when you want a 20 min break to sit in air conditioning)
Tomorrowland Transit Authority (great for when you need a rest)
Snow White's Scary Adventures
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh !? - has some bouncing/slight jostling, but I think it's probably ok.
Mickey's Philharmagic!!!!!
It's a Small World
Haunted Mansion!!!!
Pirates of the Caribbean!

Epcot
Soarin !!!!! ?
Spaceship Earth !!!!!!! SOOOO good. Cheesy, but wonderful.
The Mexico boat ride is ok
Maelstrom (Norway)
Living with The Land
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
The American Adventure (another cheesy thing I love)
Figment (if you are a figment fan...)
I also like Ellen's energy adventure for some unexplicable reason

MGM (aka Disney Hollywood Studios)
Fantasmic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (absolute must-see)
Beauty and the Beast
Muppets 3D (esp if u r a muppets person)
The Great Movie Ride!!!!
Journey of the Little Mermaid
Backlot tour

Animal Kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safari -? this is probably not pg safe, but I'm not sure
Festival of the Lion King
It's Tough to Be a Bug
ETA: Finding Nemo!

The other big attractions, the rapids, dinosaur and Everest are not prego safe, but the others in your party should def ride Everest..it's phenomenal, and has a great view of all the parks at the top

And of course shopping at DTD is always awesome!

Have fun!!!!

Re: 1st timer to Orlando/WDW

Thanks Jen- thats a great list and most of those rides I can go on.
I was on the WDW website making a list of ones that are not "expectant mother prohibited" and my list almost matches yours exactly.

Technically Safari ride in AK is out - but honestly many moms I have read on other boards ride it anyway (they ask to sit in the front where it is less bumpy). This one really depends on your comfort level. BTW it is a flat bed truck they altered to make it look like a safari vehicle (and it is basically like taking it off road - it can be pretty bumpy).

Have a fabulous trip!
