It's Not Just Me!!!!

As many of you know, I have been MISERABLE at my job. It started a few days in here, when all the guys go out to get lunch together, and didn't include me. Then when I realized the partners had no communication skills and failed to tell me what they wanted/expected from, I felt awful. The worst was when I had my review and it was the first negative review in my career. It was also the first time I heard any of those criticisms, which if I were told that before I had been working here for a year, I could have corrected.

So I have been actively looking for a new job for 2 months so far. Meanwhile, about 6 weeks ago, my office hired two new female associates (there was only one other female here, and she is a partner).

Well I just have a very interesting conversation with the newest female associate. She is fresh out of law school and they haven't trained her one bit!! I thought maybe the though I didn't need any training because I had been doing this for a while, but I got no training as to how things go in their office.

This whole time I have had no one to talk to! No one to complain about this stuff with. And it makes it so much harder to endure when its "just you".

She has been here 6 weeks and sees how screwed up everything is, from the guys eating alone and not inviting anyone else, to the partners failing to communicate.

Its not me!!! I feel like dancing. It's not me!!! She is already thinking about when she is leaving, and she has only worked here for 6 weeks.

AND the other female attorney feels the same.

Oh happy day! It's not me!!!!

Wow that sounded like my old job to the tee with the being left out of lunches with whole dept and communications but only difference is the lawyer thing.

That is good that she noticed the stuff that is going on. Hopefully that will wake the place up to their work ethnics and how they treat people when you leave and then she decides to follow. Kudos to her.

I know the feeling. I am so unhappy at my current job, this place is messed up. I commiserate with two other women who were hired after me- it makes me feel better to know I am not alone.

We need that support system until we can find something better.

One of my previous jobs was like that, to the T. And when I found "others" to discuss this with it felt great!!!

But in the end, I think we all corrupted each other by telling each other new things that bothered each of us. So if it wasn't bad enough the stuff I was mad at on my own, they would tell me another thing the bosses were doing and then I would be even more fired up. I swear we corrupted at least half the employees and within a matter of less then 6 months 9 of us left!

I know how bad it can be
