Its gotta be anxiety
Maybe the chest pains were a recurring case of pericarditis, but this tightening of my chest, hard to breath, edgy feeling has got to be something else...
Today I was stuck in the most god awful traffic-cars everywhere, and yet I still cant shake this edgy, feeling...
At one point I felt like there was an elephant on my chest..
This happens everytime, I got anxious, upset, or worried about something...

Re: Its gotta be anxiety
Awww, I know hoe you feel...I have had pretty bad anxiety, but once I was sure that it was anxiety (and not some crazy heart problem, etc.) I am better able to control it. It sounds silly, but if I do a visualization of a "calm place", I can really feel much better. I know the signs now, too, so I can breathe and talk myself calmer. My dr. had recommended a medication that you take every day for a year, but I just didn't eant to do that unless it was absolutely neccessary. The internet also suggested massage and yoga, which I try to do as regularly as possible. Beleive me, I know how you feel...try those things, or talk to your dr, maybe meds are right for you. Good Luck!

Re: Its gotta be anxiety
anxiety is scary and can happen when you least expect it. I"ve been suffering w/ anxiety for almost a year now, and used to hide it and try to run from it which only made it worse.
You could be having panic attacks. Sweaty palms, racing heart, trouble breathing, spacey feelings, blurry vision, chest pains, etc. But you can control them! When you feel this happening... try a couple things:
-accept the feelings and know that its just a panic attack and will go away -talk yourself thru it, tell yourself you are going to be fine and comfort yourself. -float thru it, don't fight it, that makes it worse -breathe! inhale thru nose for 2 seconds and exhale thru your mouth for 4 seconds. This will help calm the body symptoms and take you out of 'fight or flight' mode
Please FM me if you ever need to talk or anything... it helps knowing that lots of other people experience this.

Re: Its gotta be anxiety
I have been there before, even been on meds for it, I learned how to control it, but not always.
