Any ideas for a place for dinner?

My in-laws want to take us out to dinner for my birthday. They live in Ronkonkoma & we are in Huntington. Mum first suggested Red Lobster in Stonybrook (or Lake Grove) but then she called & was worried that we are driving too far out & it will be too busy so now they are suggesting Outback in Commack/Smithtown. She said we'll see how it is & if it is too busy (which I thik everywhere really will be - it's Friday) then we'll look for something else........Any other ideas? Along 25 or 347 between Commack and Ronkonkoma areas.

DH and I love the Spare Rib on Rt. 25 in Commack. the ribs are AMAZING there!

Also La Famiglia in Smithtown... AMAZING Italian, family style.

That is really nice of your in laws to take you out to celebrate Chat Icon You mentioned outback - there is a boulder creek on 347 closer to Smithtown - easy for both of you to get to. I guess it really depends on what type of food you like. There is also a Famous Dave's BBQ - I have heard it is good and Carrabas Grill (Italian) it is ok - on 347 across from the Watermill Inn.

My in-laws are great like that! Just found out that they meant the Outback on Commack in the Mayfair Shopping Center. I was thinking of the Boulder Creek because we have met there before.

Re: Any ideas for a place for dinner?

Well, we ended up in the Commack/Smithtown Outback after all. My steak and DW's was tender and cut like butter. Dad's was a bit tough, so he got a credit on the bill and a different one to take home. I presented my wife of almost five years with a pair of three-stone earrings.
Tomorrow I take her out to an undisclosed location (to be revealed tomorrow by one of us).
