Travelocity.com, Expedia.com, Orbitz.com, and cheaptickets.com are where I check first. Often they all have the same fares for the same flights, but sometimes one of them will have them cheaper.
Actually, lately, the airlines themselves have started offering flights at cheaper rates so they can beat sites like Travelocity. Don't forget to check their sites before you book.

usually I go through cheaptickets.com to compare and then I buy it in the airline official site

I usually check all of the above sites, including the airlines themselves plus I try travelworm.com.
