Romantic Boston Restaurant?
DH and I are going to Boston on a mini vacation to celebrate our 1st anniversary.
We are going 9/5-9/7 (or 8- not sure yet).
I want to go to a special dinner that Saturday night.
I'm looking for a nice restaurant- with a romantic atmosphere (Nothing too kid or family friendly) BUT not too fancy. We are pretty much meat and potatoes people (I don't eat any seafood; he is hesitant to try "different" things).
I just want a place where we can order a bottle of wine and enjoy a nice meal without a bunch of children around.
Nothing too too pricey either (I'd like to spend under $200).
TIA!!

Re: Romantic Boston Restaurant?
My cousin is the head chef at Ten Tables in Jamaica Plain. Last year Boston Magazine called him the best up and coming chef in Boston and the restaurant an affordable, romantic spot. Rachel Ray did a Tasty Travels segment there. The Boston Globe gave them (and Dave) a great review last year. Can you tell I'm proud?
Since there are really only 10 tables in the restaurant you definitely need to call for a reservation.

If you want trendy, definitely Sonsi on Newbury (at least as of a few years ago). The food is great- and you can sit at a table right on Newbury street. I also love Papparazzi, off Newbury Street.
If you are up for wandering, go up to the North End of Boston (a quaint Little Italy) and wander into one of the romantic little Italian restaurants over there.

This place looks nice... http://www.florentinecafeboston.com/
Go to the search feature and search for the word Boston in the travel forum. I read so many threads about Boston and got so much good info. I can't wait to go!

I don't know an exact name but there is a little italy in boston and the whole area is so nice with great restaurants. If you don't come up with something before ask your hotel and I am sure they will set you up!

Re: Romantic Boston Restaurant?
The four seasons has a very nice restaurant. It wasn't too pricey but it was very nice and very romantic (we got engaged there).
