John's Farm in Plainview?
I think this is the name. Someone was telling me about it and saying it was better than Fairway. Has anyone ever been?

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
Yes, i go every wk. It has the best prices for produce and meat/ckn/steak.
It does get a little crazy in there, since its small and you pretty much are bumping carts with someone or waiting on a line.
I try not to go on weekends, some advice and also, ONLY CASH. So make sure you have cash on you.
Great market to shop at!

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
It's excellent but don't expect fancy like Fairway- which is fine with me. IMO Fairway is just a huge rip off.
Everything is fresh there and the prices are great- but as the previous poster stated- it's small. It's more like an old fashioned market...

It's funny-these are the first positive things I hear about it...everyone says it's filthy in there...

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
I live on the border of Bethpage and Plainvew. I like Fairway a whole lot better. First, I can pay with a credit card at Fairway. They have organic produce and meats and gourmet stuff as well. Fairway may be a bit higher priced but I feel the quality is worth it. I like their prepared food dept as well.
I never get the service at John's that I do at Fairway. Also I find John's not so clean as I would like.
I still go to John's sometimes, but it's always a madhouse, the aisles are narrow, the place needs an overhaul.
that's my two cents.

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
I go to John's every week but do the weekend run. I am there when it opens (7am) & yes, there is a line out the door.
Everything I have ever gotten from them has been fresh (especially cold cuts) & the prices can't be beat. It is only cash or personal check so be prepared. It does get hectic in there though, that is why I wake up early to go!!

I hate that place...they are cheap, but I always ended up with stuff that goes bad quick. It's not worth it to me if I have to throw the produce away.

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
i would not consider john's farm the same as fairway. i would only go to john's farms for produce though. i found it too crowded and i thought the meat smelled. i'd rather go to shoprite up the road.

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
That place is a zoo. The parking lot is a nightmare. I have only been there a few times because if that and it's annoying that they only take cash.
I also go to Tiffany Nails in the same center and highly recommend them! I usaully park across the street to avoid the frustration.

Re: John's Farm in Plainview?
I used to always go to Johns Farms, but, not now. I couldn't take it anymore
I would leave there so frustrated and pizzed off. The lines are always so long and people are constantly bumping into you. I got a few bumps and bruises even.
Cold cuts were always good, prices on produce were awesome but didn't stay fresh too long. U even had to pay a quarter for a cart. U get it back when u return it, but what a pain.
When I got preggo with my DD stopped going there. I shop at the Best Yet or Waldbaums near me.
Definitely not worth the trip or aggravation IMO.
