It really don't hurt at all. It is the anticipation that makes it worse! 
Thanks! This is what I'm hoping - that the anticipation is the worst part.
ITA. But I swear by the endorphines of being nervous too. They numb your body naturally. Honestly it hurts more to get a paper cut IMO than to do a finger prick.
